Well done to our #KSIMknights who took part in the Župa Football Tournament this morning. showing enthusiasm, fair play, respect, resilience, and exceptional levels of cooperation and team spirit. All of the boys and girls (from Year 1 to Year 9) who represented #KSIM can feel extremely proud of they way in which they played, and displayed IB values and the KSI code. Thank you also to the many parents and teachers who came along to cheer on our young footballers and show their support…

Last week, all students at KSI Montenegro participated in the Hour of Code, a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. The Hour of Code takes place during Computer Science Education Week, which is held annually in recognition of the birthday of computing pioneer Grace Murray Hopper. Earlier this week, Kinder Class, Year 1 and Year 2 visited the "Jadran" - Captain Zoran Ivanovski and his crew welcomed our children and teachers aboard before giving them a tour of the 85 year old Navy of Montenegro training ship, which had 11 kilometers of rope on board.

Our young artists recently completed a Visual Arts unit where they learnt how artists traditionally represented people in artwork - by critiquing and comparing various artworks, they developed art-specific vocabulary and demonstrated their strengths as reflective, critically-thinking students. They recognised portrait painting as a genre in art where the primary focus is on the human subject, before focussing on applying and honing their skills to create their own amazing portraits. KSI Montenegro Judo Club recognised World Judo Day 2018 - the day is dedicated to coaches, fans, judoka and everyone with a passion for one of the world’s most widely practiced sports. The World Judo Day takes place on the same date every year (October, 28th) as it’s the birth date of Jigoro Kano, the founder of judo. Today, more than 40 million people practice judo around the world on a daily basis, including our Kinder to Year 4 students (after school) every Tuesday and Thursday.

October, 24th has been celebrated as United Nations Day since 1948 and since 2016 it has also been the day the community at Knightsbridge Schools International Montenegro joins together to celebrate the diversity and many different cultures that make up the school community. Last week, as part European Mobility Week, our Year 12 DP students organised games and activities to help turn the Municipality Car Park in Istarska Ulica into an open area for fun and entertainment. PARK(ing) Day is an event that is held annually throughout the world, and sees citizens turn parking into temporary public spaces.
