Born in Haiti, Widlande grew up in Italy where she graduated in 2016 in International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs. Following this degree, she was inspired to gain an insight on the recognition of childhood and children’s rights, and how these shift, in Western and Southern countries. For this reason, she attended a MA in Sociology of Childhood and Children’s Rights at University College London, from which she graduated recently. This interest was developed after various experiences in NGO’s concerning human rights as well as conferences on children’s rights to education. She believes that joining KSI Montenegro is a further step to combine and improve her theoretical understanding of children’s daily lived practice while enhancing her professional practice of working with, and for children.
